Submit a return
We collect information about the number of deer culled in Scotland. This helps us understand changing deer populations and the impact of deer management activities.
If you are a landowner/occupier, or have a deer authorisation, you must submit a return of the number of deer that were shot on your land.
You must report on cull numbers:
- under authorisation within seven days of the expiry date
- per property on an annual basis (in April)
Before you begin
We'll ask you to provide the number of deer culled by sex and species, per property.
If you missed the deadline, you can still submit an overdue return.
Submit returns offline
It is quicker and easier to submit returns online.
If you prefer to send the data by email or post, contact our Licensing team to request a paper form.
